- 2. Thickness. Standard sidewalk is a 4-inch pour; anything crossed by vehicles — driveways, aprons — requires 7 inches. More concrete, more cost.
- 3. Tree roots. Root-heaved flags can't just be re-poured. NYC Parks rules restrict cutting roots over 2 inches, so the rebuild has to work around them — more excavation, forming and time.
